Privacy Policy
What data we collect, what we use it for, how long we keep it and who else processes it. No filler clauses: what it says here is what the platform does.
Last updated: October 13, 2026
1. Who is responsible
Amethyst Therapy Services Inc., a Florida corporation that operates this platform and the Behavioral Intelligence Learning Institute, is responsible for the personal data collected here.
- Mailing address: 2421 NW 10th Ave, Apt 104, Miami, FL 33127
- Email: info@amethysttherapyservices.com
- Phone: (786) 859-3466
2. What data we collect
Only what we need to give you access to the Institute, charge you for what you buy, deliver the services you book and keep a record of your progress. We don't buy data from third parties or profile you for advertising.
- Account data: full name, email, phone if you provide it, and preferred language.
- Login credentials: your password is stored encrypted and we cannot read it. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from that account, never your password.
- Purchases: what you buy, the amount, the date and the customer ID Stripe returns to us. Your card details never touch our servers. If you tick Stripe's box to save your card, Stripe keeps it for your next purchases and you can remove it from My account → Payments.
- Learning progress: completed lessons, quiz and mock-exam attempts with their scores, enrollments and completion certificates issued.
- BILP™ assessments: your answers, response times and results, including weekly progress logs, the four short wellbeing questions at the start (see section 4) and, if you choose to tell us, whether you passed the BACB exam.
- Self-management kit: what you enter in your study and fluency (SAFMEDS) logs, your spaced-review schedule, your contingency contract (including the name of the witness you choose) and your values and anxiety sheet. It is your personal workspace: we don't share it with anyone and only access it if you ask us for help or to fix a technical problem. These sheets are study self-management tools; they are not therapy or a mental health service.
- Mailing list: if you download a free resource or subscribe, your email, your name if you give it, and the resource you requested.
- Forms: what you write in the contact or admission form, and in the form you complete after buying a service.
- Professional services: the information you give us, after the initial consultation and through a secure channel, so we can deliver a consulting, parent coaching, assessment or supervision service.
- Technical data: your IP address is used temporarily to limit sign-up and password-reset attempts and is not stored with your account.
The contact form is only for scheduling a first conversation. Please don't send diagnoses, reports or identifiable information about a child through it.
3. What we use it for
- Giving you access to what you bought and saving your progress between sessions.
- Generating your BILP™ profile and study path.
- Processing payments and subscriptions, issuing receipts and handling refunds and disputes.
- Issuing completion certificates and being able to verify them.
- Delivering the professional services you book and meeting the documentation duties set by law and by the BACB Ethics Code.
- Sending essential account emails: sign-up confirmation, password reset, receipts and notices about your purchases or about changes to these policies.
- Sending news, resources and launches only if you subscribed or requested a free resource. Every such email includes an unsubscribe link and our mailing address.
- Answering your questions and requests.
- Understanding, in aggregate, which parts of the material work best, so we can improve it.
- Protecting the platform, preventing fraud and complying with the law.
We don't sell your data, we don't share it for third-party advertising, and we don't give it to third parties to train artificial intelligence models.
4. Your assessment results
Your BILP™ answers and scores are yours, and we handle them with particular care: they guide your study and show you how you're progressing.
- They are not shared with employers, agencies, supervisors or the BACB, and they are not used for any decision other than your own preparation.
- We only access them when needed to give you learning support or fix a technical problem.
- The BILP™ is an educational tool. It is not a clinical, psychological or diagnostic assessment.
- We may use aggregated, anonymized results that cannot identify you to improve, validate and norm the instrument. If we ever wanted to use your data in research intended for publication, we would first ask for your specific informed consent, with prior approval from a research ethics committee. Saying no would not affect your access in any way.
The wellbeing questions. Before the BILP™ you answer four short questions about mood, sleep and hope. They are not part of your profile, not a diagnosis and not scored as a clinical assessment. They serve one purpose: if your answers point to distress that goes beyond the exam, we recommend you first seek support from a licensed mental health professional, and your BILP™ profile is paused until you choose to come back to it. Your access to the track content doesn't change. We store your answers and the result with your assessment. Our administrator only sees whether that support was recommended, never your answers, and we don't share it with anyone. It is deleted along with the rest of your assessment.
5. Professional services and confidentiality
When you book a behavior-analytic service (parent coaching, consulting, assessments or supervision), you first sign a service agreement that explains the scope, fees, limits of confidentiality and how to file a complaint. That information is governed by this policy and also by the BACB Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts and by law:
- We protect it and prevent accidental disclosure, including in video sessions, documents, data and messages.
- We share it only with your informed consent; to protect the person served or others from harm; to resolve contractual issues; to prevent a crime reasonably likely to cause physical, mental or financial harm; or when a law or court order requires it. Even then, we share only what is essential.
- Florida law requires us to report suspected abuse, abandonment or neglect of children and vulnerable adults. We explain this at the start of services.
- We never publish information, photos or videos of the people we serve without their written informed consent for that specific publication.
- If any service ever becomes subject to HIPAA, we will give you the corresponding notice of privacy practices separately.
6. Who else processes your data
We work with providers who act on our behalf and only for the purposes listed:
- Supabase: database, authentication and storage of downloadable files.
- Stripe: payments. You enter your card in Stripe; we only keep the customer ID and the result of the transaction.
- Resend: delivery of account emails and notices.
- Vercel: hosting and delivery of the web application.
- Google: only if you choose to sign in with your Google account.
- Zoom or another video platform we tell you about: live sessions and virtual consultations.
We may also disclose data when a law, court order or competent authority requires it; to defend ourselves against a claim; or to a buyer if Amethyst is sold or merged, who will be bound by this same policy.
7. Where it is stored
The database is hosted in Canada, and the application is served from our hosting provider's global network. Our payment and email providers operate from the United States and the European Union.
By using the platform you understand that your data may be processed in those countries, always under the contractual protection commitments each provider makes.
8. How long we keep it
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Account, progress, BILP™ results and self-management kit | While your account is active. If you close it or ask us to delete it, we delete or anonymize it within 90 days. |
| Free accounts with no purchases and no activity | If you don't sign in for 24 months, we email you; if you don't respond within 30 days, we delete the account. Accounts with paid access are never deleted for inactivity. |
| Purchases, receipts, refunds and payment disputes | 7 years from the transaction, for accounting and tax purposes. |
| Completion certificate records (name, course and date) | 7 years, so they can be verified. |
| Professional service records | 7 years from the last service, or longer if a law, funder or contract requires it. |
| Supervision documentation | At least 7 years, as the BACB Ethics Code requires, or longer if the law requires it. |
| Contact or admission forms that don't become a service | 24 months. |
| Mailing list | Until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your email on a suppression list so we never write to you again. |
| Backups | Automatically overwritten in cycles of up to 30 days. |
If a claim, dispute or investigation is pending, we keep the related data until it is resolved. When each period ends, we securely delete or anonymize the data.
9. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, optional two-step verification for your account, restricted access to data and providers with security commitments. No system is infallible. If a security breach affects your personal data, we will notify you without unreasonable delay and within the time Florida law requires.
10. Your rights
You can exercise any of these rights by writing to us. We will respond within 30 days at no cost; we may first ask you to confirm your identity.
- Access the data we hold about you and get a copy in a readable format.
- Correct anything wrong or incomplete. You can change your name and phone yourself from your profile, and your language with the ES/EN switcher.
- Ask us to delete your account and your data, within the limits in section 8.
- Object to a specific use or ask us to restrict it.
- Withdraw your consent where processing is based on it, without affecting what was done before.
- Unsubscribe from news emails at any time, using the link in the email or by writing to us. Account and purchase emails will keep arriving while you have an account.
We won't treat you any worse for exercising any of these rights.
We don't send marketing text messages without your prior express written consent. If we ever send them, you can reply STOP to opt out.
11. If you live outside the United States
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another country with its own data protection law:
- We process your data to perform our contract with you (account, purchases and services), for our legitimate interest in protecting and improving the platform, with your consent (news emails) and to meet legal obligations.
- Your data is transferred to the United States and Canada. Our providers apply recognized contractual safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.
- In addition to the rights above, you have the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your country's data protection authority.
12. Cookies and sessions
We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember your language. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
If you block them in your browser, you won't be able to stay signed in.
13. Minors
The platform is for adult professionals and students: you must be 18 or older to create an account. We don't knowingly collect data from minors through the site. If you believe a minor has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.
For family services, information about a minor child comes from their parent or legal representative, outside the web form, with their consent and under the service agreement.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we will update the date above and notify you by email or in the platform at least 15 days before the change affects you.
